The NE declares a URU-O failure against each an STM-n line when the pluggable transmission module failure/removal defect persists for the alarm processing delay period ±0.5 seconds. Refer to SET-ATTR-ALM:almdel in Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) TL1 Command Guide for MSPP. Note: While a typically default alarm delay is 2.5 (±0.5) seconds, the NE default alarm delay is 2 seconds. Upon declaring and the failure, the NE sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s). The NE clears a URU-O failure when the unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module defect clears. After clearing the failure, the NE also sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s).

Description |
underlying resources unavailable, optical module |
Likely Cause |
The URU-O alarm is declared coincident with the unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module alarm. Type parameter is provisioned to the wrong value, or the wrong pluggable transmission module was inserted into an unprotected socket - MJ: SA. A protected pluggable transmission module failed, the port Signal Type parameter is provisioned to the wrong value, or the wrong pluggable transmission module was inserted into a protected socket - MN: NSA. |
Visible Indication |
Lighted CR/MJ or MN/ABN LED on SYSCTL faceplate, a continuously lighted port LED on the socket, and a flashing FAULT LED on the failed circuit pack. |
Action |
In the alarm list, find the associated unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module alarm, and proceed to Procedure 5-65: Clear "unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module" alarm. |
