Refer to Laser safety and Electrostatic discharge in Chapter 1, Safety.
Complete the following steps to clear an unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module/underlying resources unavailable, optical module alarm.

From the WaveStar® CIT System View, click the Alarm List button and locate the unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module/underlying resources unavailable, optical module alarm in the resulting alarm list. | ||||||||

Determine the alarm level(s) for the active unexpected or failed Pluggable Transmission Module/underlying resources unavailable, optical module alarm(s). Clear the alarms in order of severity. | ||||||||

Refer to the Probable Cause column in your alarm list, and determine the pluggable transmission module affected and note the corresponding socket AID. | ||||||||

Was the affected pluggable transmission module just installed in the socket?

Select Reports → Status Lists → Pluggable Transmission Module to obtain the Pluggable Module Status showing the expected pluggable transmission module for the affected circuit pack/socket. | ||||||||

Use the Pluggable Module Status and office records to verify that the correct pluggable transmission module was installed in the correct socket/circuit pack.
