Procedure 16-4.12: Configure MEP LPT/CSF
Overview
Use this procedure to configure parameters associated with CSF generation and consequent action on a MEP. When a failure is detected at the local port, the MEP sends CSF frames in the forward direction to propagate the failure to the remote MEP so that remote MEPs may initiate link shutdown. For the selected MEP, it displays the system settings initially, if there are any.

From the Navigation menu, select Service OA&M → Maintenance Association End Point → MEP LPT/CSF Configuration. Equivalent CLI command: ethoam lpt. Result: The MEP LPT/CSF Configuration window displays. |

Enter the parameters as required. See Table 16-13, MEP LPT/CSF Configuration parameters. |

The selected MEP ID. This parameter is a drop-down list containing all MEP IDs in the selected MD & MA above. MEPs configured on ports enabled for Spanning Tree or Ethernet Ring Protection are excluded. Also, the port cannot have mode-dvlan tunnel enabled. |

LPT Frame Type |
The ETH-CSF frame insertion type. Valid values: bidir_ethcsf, disable (default), unidir_ethcsf. This is an optional field. |

Priority |
The priority of the CSF frames. Valid values: an integer in the range of 0 to 7 (default - 7) This is an optional field. |

The OpCode of the ETH-CSF PDU. Valid values: an integer in the range 0, 6-32, 34, 36, 38, 44, 52-255. The default is 32. This is an optional field. |

The type of consequent action to take due to ETH-CSF. Valid values: disable (default), shutdown. This is an optional field. |

Hold-off Time |
The hold-off time before the consequent action is initiated. Valid values: an integer in the range 0 - 100 (0.1 seconds). The default is zero. Each step in the range represents 0.1 seconds. The maximum of 100 is 10 seconds. This is an optional field. |
