Procedure 9-9.1: Display alarm events/conditions for all or selected Tunnel Segments

- Overview

Use this procedure to retrieve the current status of any reported alarm conditions for the specified TUSEG, or for the specified TUSEG and any alarm conditions matching the specified combination of position defined input parameters.

If multiple alarm conditions exist, a line of output is provided for each alarm. Multiple alarms are displayed in ascending order by date and time of occurrence.

Any alarm/condition event that is created by the SNMP Trap is also reported.

Login to the VLNC42B.

From the Navigation menu, select TMPLS → Alarms → TUSEG Alarm Report.

Result:

The Tunnel Segment Alarm Report screen displays.

Enter the parameters as required, then click Submit.

Result:

Data for each alarm condition being retrieved is displayed. If multiple alarm conditions exist, a line of output is provided for each alarm. Multiple alarms are displayed in ascending order by date and time of occurrence.

Reporting alarms by the selected Tunnel Segment. This is a drop-down list containing "ALL" plus all Tunnel Segments in the system. The default value is "ALL".

Notification Code

Notification Code. Identifies the type of alarm generated by the system upon occurrence of the event identified by the CONDTYPE. Valid values:

  • ALL (default)

  • CR — critical alarm

  • MJ — major alarm

  • MN — minor alarm

  • WR — warning alarm

Condition Type

Condition type. Valid values:

  • ALL (default)

  • LOC — Loss of Connectivity

  • MMG — Unexpected MEG

  • RDI — Remote Defect Indication (FEND)

  • SSF — Server Signal Failure

  • UNM — Unexpected MEP

  • UNP — Unexpected Period

  • UNPHB — Unexpected PHB

Service Effect

Service Effect Type. Valid values:

  • ALL (default)

  • NSA — Non-service affecting.

  • SA — Service affecting.

Location

Reporting alarms by the selected Location. Valid values:

  • ALL (default)

  • NEND — Near end.

  • FEND — Far end.

  • BIDIR — Bidirectional.

Direction

Reporting alarms by the selected Direction. Valid values:

  • ALL (default)

  • RCV — Receive direction

  • TRMT — Transmit direction
