Replace a Lucent CM server

Purpose

This topic describes the steps to replace a Lucent CM server that is currently used in an active Lucent CM system.

Server replacement

Task StepsPerform the following steps:

1

Backup the Lucent CM system.

Reference:  Refer to the topic Backup the Lucent CM system.

Stop the server.

Reference:  Refer to the topic Start and stop a server.

Perform the following steps to remove the server hardware:

  1. Power off the server.

  2. Disconnect the cables.

  3. Remove the server.

Perform the following steps to install the new server hardware:

  1. Install the server.

  2. Reconnect the cables.

  3. Power on the server.

Install Red Hat Linux.

Recover the node, to re-establish the existing provisioning of the node.
