This topic describes the steps to add, modify, or delete an LDAP authentication service.
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a protocol that is used to access a directory server (or LDAP server). User and user password information is stored on the directory server.
An LDAP authentication service can be used to authenticate partition administrators or users.
It can not be used to authenticate service administrators.
The LDAP authentication service has no packages.
The LDAP Authentication Service parameters:
Parameter |
Description |
Auth Service ID |
Identifier to uniquely identify the LDAP authentication service |
Server Name |
The FQDN of the LDAP server that is used to retrieve the authentication information. |
Port |
The port the LDAP server uses for communication. |
Search Base |
The base object in the LDAP server for searches. |
Perform the following steps to add, modify or delete an LDAP authentication service:

At the Lucent CM Explorer tree view, navigate to the Authentication folder (Lucent CM System → Services → Authentication). Result: The Authentication Service List displays, listing the available services. | ||||||||

Configure the LDAP authentication parameters. | ||||||||

Click Add or Update to save the authentication service. Result: The Lucent CM Authentication Package list is updated to reflect the changes. End of steps |
