Procedure 4-18: Provision Fibre Channel circuit pack/Data port/VCG for service

- Overview

Use this procedure to provision Fibre Channel circuit pack/Data ports/VCGs for service.

Important!

Fibre Channel circuit packs/Data ports/VCGs are provisioned for the type of service being provided. This procedure shows you how to access the parameters being provisioned, not how the parameters should be provisioned. Refer to your work instructions for parameter values or refer to Chapter 11, Ethernet/Data network provisioning procedures for examples of service provisioning.

- Privilege level

You must log in as a Privileged or General user to complete this procedure.

- Before you begin

Prior to performing this procedure:

  1. Refer to Required equipment and Before you begin in this chapter.

  2. Obtain work instructions for this procedure.

  3. Ensure that the circuit pack(s) is installed. If the circuit pack is not installed, refer to Procedure 4-17: Install Fibre Channel circuit packs .

  4. Ensure that the appropriate pluggable transmission module(s) is installed. Procedure 4-16: Install pluggable transmission modules

Steps

Complete the following steps to provision the Fibre Channel circuit pack/Data ports/VCGs.

1

From the System View menu, click the Alarm List button to verify that no alarms are present for the circuit packs to be provisioned.

Result:
