Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) Product Information and Planning Guide, Issue 1, was issued to provide information about the following significant Release 7.2 features.
VLNC33 100 F 3-Port Optical Fast Ethernet Port Expander circuit pack that adds three optical Fast Ethernet ports to VLNC42B Ethernet Aggregator circuit packs.
SDH support on VLNC55 OC-3/12/48-STM-1/4/16-28DS1/E1-3DS3E3-1G SONET/SDH Transport circuit pack that provides the functionality of the VLNC52 OC-3/OC-12/STM-1/STM-4/28DS1E1/3DS3E3/1G SONET/SDH Transport circuit pack, OC-48/STM-16 interfaces.
OC-3/STM-1/OC-12/STM-4/OC-48/STM-16 multi-rate PTMs are supported on the VLNC55
SDH support on OC-48/STM-16 CWDM pluggable transmission modules.
Improved precision of 1-way loss measurement (LM) performance monitoring data support on VLNC40/42/42B Ethernet Aggregator circuit packs.
Y1731 1-way delay measurement (DM) performance monitoring support on VLNC42/42B Ethernet Aggregator circuit packs.
Transport Multiprotocol Label Switching (T-MPLS) enhanced functionality support on VLNC42B Ethernet Aggregator circuit pack.
Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) support on all pluggable transmission modules on VLNC33 packs.
SDH synchronization enhancements support on VLNC5x SONET/SDH Transport circuit packs.
Unframed (UF) signal format for E1 interfaces support on VLNC6x circuit packs.
C-VLAN push/pop feature allows a C-VLAN to be popped at ingress, and allows a C-VLAN to be pushed at egress. The C-VLAN is considered to be “service delimiting”. Rather than tunneling the C-VLAN, it is mapped to a selected pseudo-wire.
This guide is intended for network planners and engineers. However, anyone who needs specific information regarding the features, applications, operation, engineering, and ordering of Alcatel-Lucent 1850 TSS-5 would benefit from this document.
This document is not a cabinet-level end-product requirements document.
