Procedure 14-8: ETS flow services traffic descriptor configuration

- Overview

Use this procedure to create/modify/delete the ETS Traffic Descriptors (TD).

- Before you begin

Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.

Step

1

Log in to the VLNC4x circuit pack being provisioned.

2

From the Navigation menu, select QoS → ETS Flow Services → Traffic Descriptor Configuration to provision the ETS flow traffic descriptors.

Result:

The ETS Traffic Descriptor Configuration screen appears.

Refer to Bandwidth calculations and rate shaping on T-MPLS NNIs and Procedure 14-9: Manage traffic expansion in TMPLS pseudowire encapsulation for more information.

3

Enter the required parameters, then click Submit to modify the existing TD or create a new TD. Click Delete to delete an existing Traffic Descriptor if the TD is not referenced by any of the UNI-to-NNI Flow services.

Parameter

Value

Command

TD Selector

A drop-down list containing Create and all ETS TDs in the system. Create selection is not valid if total number of TDs reaches 64.

TD Label

If Create is selected, this is blank initially. Otherwise, it displays the selected Traffic Descriptor label above. A selected TD cannot be modified/deleted if it is referenced by any InFlow service.

TD Label is a required field. It is a unique character string up to 30 ASCII characters.

QoS

A drop-down list containing: EF, HIGH2, AF1, AF2, AF3, AF4, LOW2, DE.

CIR - Committed Information Rate (Kbit/sec)

0 or a positive integer that is the multiple of 64. The CIR value must be ≤ to the PIR value.

PIR - Peak Information Rate (Kbit/sec)

0 or a positive integer that is the multiple of 64. The PIR value must be ≥ to the CIR value.

CBS - Committed Burst Rate (bytes)

Valid values: 0, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512. The CBS value must be ≤ PBS value.

PBS - Peak Burst Size (bytes)

Valid values: 0, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512. The PBS value must be ≥ CBS value.
