QoS differentiated services are configured in stages by provisioning the following differentiated services (DiffServ) components:
Class: The DiffServ class defines the packet filtering criteria. A match criteria is defined for each class. Packet processing begins when the switch tests the match criteria for a packet.
Policy: The DiffServ policy attributes define the way the switch processes packets. Policy attributes may be defined on a per-class instance basis. The switch applies these policy attributes when it finds a class match. The switch applies a policy to a packet when it finds a class match within that policy.
Service: The DiffServ service commands are used to assign a provisioned class/policy association to an interface in the incoming direction. The service commands attach a defined policy to a directional interface. You can assign only one policy at any one time to an interface in the inbound direction. DiffServ is not used in the outbound direction.
