Add, modify, or delete a messaging service

This topic describes the steps to add, modify, or delete a messaging service. Messaging services define access to different messaging systems.

Supported messaging systems are:

Voice mail

The messaging service parameters:

Parameter	Description
`Message Service ID`	A unique identifier for the messaging service.
`Type`	The type of messaging service. Available types are: VoiceMail
`Host`	The FQDN of the messaging server.
`Port`	The port of the messaging server.
`Poll for Message Counter`	Check mark box to define if the messaging server must be polled to retrieve the number of messages.
`Interval - Minutes`	The interval time between message count polls if polling is active.
`VMS Forward To Number`¹	The telephone number used to forward calls to the voice mail system.
`VMS Retrieve From Number`¹	The telephone number used to retrieve messages from the voice mail system.
`Message Service Vendor`	The vendor of the messaging system that provides the message service. You can select: `AnyPath` `Other`
`Sign On URL`	The URL to provide single sign on to the voice mail web interface. This is a mandatory or optional parameter depending on the `Message Service Vendor` value.

Notes:

1	Only visible when `Type` is VoiceMail.

Perform the following steps to add, modify or delete a messaging service:

At the Lucent CM Explorer tree view, navigate to the Messaging folder (Lucent CM System → Services → Messaging).

Result: The Messaging Services tab displays, listing the available services.

If ...	Then ...
you want to add a messaging service,	Click Add Continue with Step 3.
you want to modify a messaging service,	Select the service Click Edit Continue with Step 3.
you want to delete a messaging service,	Select the service Click Delete Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box. End of Procedure

Configure the messaging service parameters.

Click Add or Update to save the messaging service.

Result: The Messaging Service list is updated to reflect the changes.
