Enabling mLDP
When LDP is enabled, mLDP is enabled by default. For a configuration example, see Enabling LDP.
To enable mLDP, the following conditions must be satisfied:
- Basic FEC type 1 requires a single IGP area to ensure every provider node is reachable.
- LDP must be enabled for IPv4.
- For NG-MVPN, enable network-instance protocols bgp-multicast-vpn and set the provider-tunnel mLDP options in the IP-VRF. See the ‟NG-MVPN” chapter of the SR Linux VPN Services Guide for more information.
After NG-MVPN signaling identifies the participating PE nodes, the system dynamically builds the Point-to-Multipoint (P2MP) trees. Each LDP-based inclusive or selective Provider Multicast Service Interface (PMSI) LSP is associated with a single MVPN instance.
