Software and image catalogs
When you create a fabric, you must specify what operating system and version should be present on all of the nodes that participate in the fabric. You select a particular OS software vendor, type, and version number as part of the fabric design, and the system deploys that software to each node as part of the overall fabric deployment.
Currently, the system supports only SR Linux software from Nokia. A set of SR Linux software images are pre-loaded into the system.
Because you select only one SR Linux image file for the fabric intent as a whole, the same version of SR Linux is deployed to all nodes participating in the fabric. If a node is already running a different version of SR Linux, it downloads the new SR Linux software image file and uses it to replace its current version when you deploy the fabric.
For the procedures to view the system's current software catalog, and add a new image to the catalog, see the Software and image catalogs section in Application settings.
