Chapter 8: System performance monitoring procedures

Overview

Purpose

Use the procedures in this chapter to view or provision performance monitoring parameters from the WaveStar® CIT System View Performance menu.

Depending on local procedures, types of configurations, and shelf equipage, some or none of the optional parameters may need to be provisioned. It is assumed that local system administration is responsible for determining these parameter values.

Some of the parameter values may be provisioned during the initial shelf turn-up. Other parameter values may be provisioned after the system is integrated into the network configuration.

This chapter applies only to the VLNC50/52/55 SONET/SDH Transport, VLNC35 Fast Ethernet, and VLNC2 SYSCTL circuit packs.

For procedures related to the VLNC40/42/42B, VLNC60/61/62, and VLNC64 circuit packs, and general information about using the Command Line Interface (CLI), refer to Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) Command Line Interface Guide.

For procedures related to the VLNC40/42/42B, VLNC60/61/62, and VLNC64 circuit packs, and general information about using the Web-based GUI interface, refer to Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) CLI User Provisioning Guide.
