The NE shall declare an SSF-V failure against a VC3 or VC12 if one or more of the following defects persists for the alarm processing delay period ±0.5 seconds. Refer to SET-ATTR-ALM:almdel in Alcatel-Lucent 1850 Transport Service Switch (TSS-5) TL1 Command Guide for MSPP.
inc. STMN LOS for the line that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. STMN LOS.
inc. STMN LOF for the line that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. STMN LOF.
inc. STMN MS-AIS for the line that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. STMN MS-AIS.
inc. VCN AU-AIS for the AU4 that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. VCN AU-AIS.
inc. VCN AU-LOP for the AU4 that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. VCN AU-LOP.
inc. VCN HP-UNEQ for the VC4 that contains the VC3 or VC12. Refer to inc. VCN HP-UNEQ.
inc. VCN TU-AIS. Refer to inc. VCN TU-AIS.
inc. VCN TU-LOP . Refer to inc. VCN TU-LOP.
Note: While a typically default alarm delay is 2.5 (±0.5) seconds, the NE default alarm delay is 2 seconds. Upon declaring and the failure, the NE sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s). The NE clears an SSF-V failure coincident with clearing the LOS, LOF, MS-AIS, AU-AIS, AU-LOP, HP-UNEQ, TU-AIS or TU-LOP, alarm. After clearing the failure, the NE also sends an alarm message to the appropriate OS(s).

Likely Cause |
The SSF-V alarm(s) is declared coincident with a inc. STMN LOS , inc. STMN LOF, inc. STMN LOS, inc. STMN MS-AIS , inc. VCN AU-AIS, inc. VCN AU-LOP, inc. VCN HP-UNEQ, inc. VCN TU-AIS, or inc. VCN TU-LOP alarm. An unprotected STM-n line/VC3/VC12 Ring Channel (Path) has a coincident LOS, LOF, MS-AIS, AU-AIS, AU-LOP, HP-UNEQ, TU-AIS, TU-LOP alarm: MJ (SA). A protected STM-n line/VC3/VC12 Ring Channel (Path) has a coincident LOS, LOF, MS-AIS, AU-AIS, AU-LOP, HP-UNEQ, TU-AIS, TU-LOP alarm: MN (NSA). |
Visible Indication |
LOS, LOF, MS-AIS, AU-LOP: Lighted CR/MJ or MN/ABN LED on SYSCTL faceplate and a flashing FAULT LED on the failed circuit pack. HP-UNEQ, AU-AIS, TU-AIS: Lighted CR/MJ or MN/ABN LED on SYSCTL faceplate. |
Action |
In the alarm list, find the associated inc. STMN LOS , inc. STMN LOF, inc. STMN LOS, inc. STMN MS-AIS , inc. VCN AU-AIS, inc. VCN AU-LOP, inc. VCN HP-UNEQ, inc. VCN TU-AIS, or inc. VCN TU-LOP alarm, and proceed to Procedure 5-36: Clear "inc. OCN/STMN" conditions/alarms and/or Procedure 5-38: Clear "inc. STSN/VCN" conditions/alarms. |
